** Please be aware that we receive a high number of adoption applications per week.  We strive to process applications within three (3) business days; however, depending on the number of applications needing to be processed combined with the shelter being extremely busy with other services, the process may take longer.    If you have not received a call with regards to your application within 3 business days, please call the shelter for a status update. **

What are the steps to adopting?

1) Choose an animal.

2) Fill out an adoption application form.  Cat Application Form, Dog Application Form or Small Animal Application Form

3) Once your application is approved an appointment for you to come and meet the animal(s) will be scheduled.

You will need to provide two references and the name of your veterinarian. If you are renting your housing, please bring contact information for your landlord.

4) Complete an interview.

An interview is completed to ensure that the animal you have chosen is the right one for you, and that you are the perfect owner for the animal. Our goal is to find our animals loving, forever homes, so we want to ensure that it is the right fit for both parties.

5) You will be contacted and notified if your application was successful.

If you are successful, a pick-up time will be arranged during our hours of operation. At this time, you will be required to complete the adoption contract, review it with a shelter staff member and pay the adoption fee.

Adoptions are not decided on a “first come, first serve” basis.  Adoption decisions are based solely on (1) what is in the best interest and (2) who best meets the needs of each individual animal.

We are committed to finding our animals their “forever family”. If you have any questions regarding our adoption process, please feel free to contact us.
