1. No owner of a cat shall permit their dog or cat to be at large.
  2.  No person shall allow their dog or cat to trespass on someone else`s private property.
  3. The maximum number of cats that may be kept by any person is six.

  6. It is an actual bylaw in Timmins that you need to scoop your dog`s poop. The only exception to this law is if you are a blind or disabled person.
  7. Any time that an unlicensed dog is seized or impounded, the Guardian of the said dog will be subject to a pound fee of $125.00. (Much better to pay the $35 yearly for your neutered dog!)
  8. If your dog is wearing a City licence when the pound picks him up, the pound fee will only be $45.00 (plus any additional boarding fees)
  9. When an Animal Control Officer or Police Officer designates a dog as a Potentially Dangerous Dog, the owner of the dog shall need to comply with a long list of requirements as deemed necessary by the Animal Control Officer. See PART V of the bylaw:  Muzzling, Leashing & Containment of Dogs
  10. Cats need Identification Tags too!! If the pound picks up a cat without a license tag, the fees are $65 plus $20 for every day it had to stay at the pound. If the cat has a license, for the first offense it is only $20, plus $20 a day. So, much better to just get the license and have peace of mind!
